Twist with a BIG twist

I'm on a one year protective styling challenge. I shampooed and conditioned my hair with Giovanni Shampoo and Conditioner and deep conditioned with Olive Oil replenishing pack. I applied Cantu Shea Butter Cream and olive oil to seal the ends. I then twisted my hair and made two strand twist all across my hair. My twist were so shrunken up and they didn't feel feminine to me so I added Marley Braiding hair and incorporated that to make an undo and to make my style more full.

Here's pictures of the style and below is how short my two strand twist were. See the difference and how much more full it is.

<----I really disliked my hair before the addition      of marley hair

I am very pleased with the outcome of this style. Heres a pic of the hair I used to make my style more full!

For this style:
I used:
My natural hair two stranded twist
Marley hair to stuff it ( I only used one bag and I used 1B since its closest to my natural hair color)
Bobby Pins to keep the marley hair in tact and to also sculpt my hair to my likings

February 23, 2013 Protective Style

This is is my protective style I've been wearing. I'm at week 3 and will keep my sew in for one more week before washing and restyling. I have been keeping my natural hair moisturized underneath by putting water, olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter in an applicator and squeezing in between tracks to ensure even distribution. The water is moisturizing but because of my high porosity hair I have to seal in the moisture with an oil. By using the oil and water at the same time I'm killing two birds with one stone.
